Myra Hindley crashes Olympic party
Bungling tourism bosses last night used the face of Murderer Myra to promote 2012 at a VIP party.
Her portrait from the Tate flashed up in a video was played to guests Gordon Brown, David gold medal heroes Chris Hoy and Vicky Pendleton and London mayor Boris Johnson.
The Prime Minister was said to be absolutely furious over the bungle at London House, the Beijing base for the capital’s 2012 promotions.
A source added: "It is disgraceful this night of British pride has been sullied like this. Those responsible should be found and sacked. It is a grotesque representation of London."
A No10 spokesman said: "The use of this image is in extremely poor taste." The video was made by tourist board Visit London to show off the capital’s cultural highlights.
The p o r t r a i t o f Hindley by artist Marcus Harvey is a controversial work in which her likeness is made up from the handprints of children.
It is based on a n i n f a m o u s police photo taken in 1966 after she was convicted with Ian Brady of the sadistic murders of two children.

The video was shown at the party on a loop - so Hindley’s image repeatedly flashed on the screen.
Guests who saw it also included Chinese film star Jackie Chan and officials from the Beijing and London Olympic teams.
Visit London is part of the London Development Agency which is the responsibility of the mayor. Mr Johnson last night ordered the film to be withdrawn immediately.
A spokesman said: "He is deeply disturbed that this image has gone out.
"He firmly believes it should not have been used. It is wrong that a film promoting London should include Myra Hindley. It is deeply offensive to most people for understandable reasons."
But Visit London defended the decision to use the portrait.
A spokesman said: "It has been used in promotional material before with no problems. "It’s an example of how there is no censorship in the UK."

Lets face it, this is a huge blunder and extremely upsetting for most of us but at the end of the day isn't this exactly what the British government supports, child abusers?
The government does nowhere near enough to help victims and survivors of child abuse and it does hardly anything to convict those who do abuse maim and murder children. The UK law supports child abusers before it supports the victims, the UK civil system undermines victims of child abuse and compensates them meagre sums and pays out thousands and up to hundreds of thousands in compensation for other things such as criminals and top cops, undermines survivors of child abuse and ensure most still can't take civil action despite a change in the statue lmitations act, slaps paedophiles on the wrists and if its someone into child porn in the government they get off scott free, has taken away funding for services that supported victims and survivors of abuse etc etc etc
SO WHY SHOULDNT SHE BE IN THAT SO CALLED BLUNDER FOR THE WORLD TO SEE BECAUSE WHILST IT DOESNT REPRESENT MOST OF US AND OUTRAGES US, IT SURE AS HELL REPRESENTS THE GOVERNMENT AND THE LAW AND ALL ITS FAILURES TO PROTECT INNOCENT CHILDREN AND FAILS TO SUPPORT SURVIVORS OF ABUSE.
GORDON BROWN WAS FURIOUS EH! BET HE ISN'T BLOODY FURIOUS AT ALL HIS FAILURES TO VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS OF CHILD ABUSE UNLESS HE KNOWS THEM PERSONALLY
