Bishop of Rochester meeting

I regret going to that meeting with the Bishop of Rochester because it has lost my faith in the church. I havent lost my faith in God but I have the Church of England.

I dont suppose God expected his church to be turned into a daily business arrangement that goes against everything his son died for and Im not a person who lives in churches or preaches the bible but its seems very apropriate to mention God in all of this as I do not think for one minute that he approves of what the church are doing. The way I see it is..

God gave me the strength to get through what happened to me in Kendall House and he gave me the strength to expose what happened in Kendall House because God chooses to do things for a reason and if he didnt want me to have a say there is no wayI would be here now and no way I would of survived that nightmare. God works in mysterious ways and I hope the church takes note of that. The church need to rethink what the church is all about because if it doesnt then the church will not be the house of God, it will be just another business hiding behind the name of the lord. The church need to listen to whats happened and they need to start being men of God and act like men of God and not a mouth piece for insurance companies who dont want to pay compensation because thats what this is all about to them, saving money and making money.

I havent asked them to compensate me, yes I think they should compensate some of the girls. They wont even pay for therapy for the girls abused and they claim to be supportive but they are not being supportive, if they were then they would challenge the very failures in the system such as the social services and the police. The only reason the Bishopwont challenge them publicly is because it works in the churches favour not to as the abuse is about their own childrens home that illegally turned itself into a secure unit and turned that home into a concentration camp right here in the UK. They must of taken notes from Hitlers regimes.

I didnt answer one of the things said by the Bishop but here is my answer

The reason the police and government didnt go into kendall house at the time the abuse was made public and investigate is because Kendall House was a private home owned and run by the Church of England and there was no jurisdiction that allowed the government to interveine on a private childrens home and they only had jusrisdiction on council homes but when they changed the rules later on the DSS did go into kendall house and were horrified on what they found. Miss Gross who was a senior for the church refused an enquiery or investigation into Kendall House knowing it wasnt governed by outsideinfluenceto do so. Miss Gross in 1980 was fully aware that what was happening inside Kendall House was abuse as it was publicly highlighted in 1980 by many in the psychiatric profession as abuse but she chose to ignore the abuse because perhaps the church couldnt afford to lose such large amounts of money per girl who were put in kendall house. The matresses were many years old and seen hundreds of girls through, the furniture was abismal and disgusting, the decor in kendall house was dreadful and the carpets disgusting apart from by the front door, officeand staff rooms which is where outsiders got to see. The staff rooms were decorated and the money spent on their luxery of working there and the needs of the girls wereblatantly ignored. The girls were even forced to buy shampoo, deoderant and soap out of their lousy 75p pocket money because clearly 18 grand payments from social services per child wasnt enough to pay for the girls shampoo and basic needs.

I have spoken to the neighbours and many are still livingaround and they were all told we wereserious criminals andwe were mentally ill and a danger to the community and it was lies so the neighbours didnt report the screams from the girls which still ring out in their ears all these years later. They will never forget the staff coming outside which huge bunches of keys and some of the sick comments the staff made when going home from a days work abusing us.

People did complain in the end and it wasnt just neighbours, it was staff and ex girls and social workers who made complaint after complaint about the abuse inside Kendall House. MIND was alerted too and the church still refused to deal with the abuse and they carried on making all that money per girl and even made money per empty bed and their price went up in 1983.

And the church state they were not responsible for kendall house.

I beg to differ on that one and the church were very much responsible as were the social services who carried on using kendall house knowing abuse was going on and whilst most social services refused to place girls there after 1980 and withdrew funding Wandsworth social services who were the prodominant users of Kendall House as stated in a DSS report carried on using it and ignored every single complaint of abuse from the girls they placed there. Wandsworth even blatantly lied to parents including my own parents who complained and told the parents the girls werent being drugged and one social wrote that one girls family had come in about the drugs and she was too scared to tell them their daughter was being drugged.
