A Pirate’s Fall

This was great to write. It puts our imagination into perspective when looking back at history.

What once was a shelter as storms arose

Waves crashing and tumbling around,

Men fighting the fury of whistling gales

Hanging on as the rain beat down.

The thunder is angry, the lightning strikes

A direct hit to the mast and the hull,

The sea comes with the power to tear down the sides

As water pours in through the holes.

All is alight in a blazing glory

Men jump and abandon the wreck,

The darkeness still looming all around

No life left upon this deck.

As she goes down in terrible shame

Slowly followed by crew and all,

Thier voices scream til no more to be heard

Murky depths thier lives do fall

With oceans deep and oceans wide

Stolen jewels now lifeless as stone,

The hold no meaning, they hold no joy

To be left, undisturbed down below

this is terribly descriptive and dark. good writing. But not my cup of tea to read of death and dying. sorry. we had the andrea doria sink off our coast. And I hated the movie Titanic. But yes, jewels are worthless, though many covet them. So with this part, at least, I agree.
