Do you think you were used as a guinea pig at Kendall House?

Yes I do

Do you feel there has been a cover up with Kendall House?

There’s no two ways about it. It was and still is a cover up and there were too many involved at the time who made some serious mistakes or took part and don’t want the truth to come out publicly. I feel the UK isn’t doing enough to highlight the cover ups that are taking place over here on our own doorstep. Even the media wont touch it for some reason.

What happened to the foster father?

He was convicted but not for what he done to me as that was without a doubt covered up 100% and according to the latest information he has remarried, moved to Blackpool which yes is a paedophile haven and owns/runs a family bed and breakfast. However he has done a bunk to Spain with his wife and is suffering from alzheimer’s. He clearly swings between Spain and Blackpool. He has been suffering from alzheimer’s for the last seven years apparently. Thats scary because I do not believe any child abuser changes his ways and my concerns are his illness. If he abuses children he can not only hide behind his illness as an excuse or he can abuse a child and not even realise he has done it after. His wife is aware of his conviction and she seems to be ignorant. I was at one stage told he still lived in Herne Bay.

Do you feel sorry for the abusers?

No I do not nor will I ever feel sorry for them, ever.

How have Kent Police treated you?

Very badly

Were Kent Police at any stage involved in what happened at Kendall House?

Yes, they ignored the abuse and sent the girls back every time and ignored the girls complaints of abuse at the time, they did not deal with rape allegations at the time either and took sides with the staff at Kendall House thus ensuring the girls continued to be further abused. Things may have changes over the years but their attitude definatly hasn’t.

What are the Church of England doing to support you and the other women?

Nothing although David does listen to me in tears from time to time. He is nice but I have to accept he is not the decision maker. The Church refuse to investigate and refuse to aknowledge the abuse based on their insurers advice which I believe is Zurich insurance. Insurers have alot to answer for when it comes to child abuse as the insurers are guilty of aiding and preventing the abuse of children being exposed and put them through hell when they speak up. The Church are also helpful in giving me some information even if it is not all of it.

Are politicians supporting you?

No way. Some of them were involved in the original cover up so it is not in their interest to support me at all.

I noticed the Department of Children Schools and Families have refused to review the Kendall House abuse and have also “stated” they will not be reviewing any further historic child abuse cases. How did you find this information out and how does it make you feel?

I emailed alot of MP’s who passed it directly to the DCSF and many weeks later they finally responded. They emailed me 8th October 08. It makes me very angry because not only is it wrong that they are ignoring historic abuse but also because of the lies they included in that email because they didn’t do their homework very well re Kendall House. I would of provided them with the correct information. Then there is the fact that they have kept it quiet publicly. Ed Balls is not very good at his job in my opinion. He probably doesn’t like me much because of the Glaxo Ofsted situation and that I took part albeit for the right reasons and to support those who exposed it. I have emailed them back and hope to get a response soon.

What do you want to gain from exposing Kendall House?

Justice, peace, closure and to ensure people work towards making sure this doesn’t happen again. There should also be a review into how children are drugged and put into mental institutions. It’s a serious problem. Restraining of looked after children also needs to be reviewed and we should be given the stats and figures of how many are injured during this appauling abuse.
