Hello Teresa
I have been reading your book “Pin Down” over the past few weeks in my local public library, and have hardly been able to put it down.
You and everyone else were treated in a truly horrific manner in Kendall House by that man Perinpanayagam. He deserved to be struck off the medical register or possibly even jailed for the systematic abuse to which he subjected you all. Unfortunately this cannot happen as he is now dead.
Sadly, I do not think he was the only incompetent individual within the British medical system. Back in the early 1990s I was treated for severe depression after a suicide attempt by a man whose callous attitude was very similar to that of Perinpanayagm; I was reminded of him when I read your book.
I do not say that this particular individual ever abused anyone with drugs, but like Perinpanayagam he simply paid no attention whatsoever to the feelings and problems of his patients and lectured them on what was and was not wrong with them; In my own case he virtually ignored my problems and forced me back to work as soon as possible, which ultimately made me even worse. I still suffer from depression and a personality disorder to this day.
Incidently, there appears to be another doctor named Perinpanayagam who also worked with young people; this man’s name is K. Sounthy Perinpanayagam and he seems to have written several books. I do not know if he is any relation to the Dr M S Perinpanayagam who was attached to Kendall House.
You were very brave to record your horrific experiences in your book and I hope that you will be able to continue to help other people who have suffered abuse. Abuse still occurs in many places today, such as schools, prisons, hospitals, residential homes and other establishments, although it is often covered up.
With love and best wishes
ALAN

Dr.Raymond Bhutt/Batt (spelling may be incorrect) regarding disabled children and the ‘B12’ Unit that was at the Chelsea and Westmister Hspital, also if he had any connection to Dr. Cavannagh (paediatic neuroligist C & W) or paediatric gastroenteroligst (now retired/reader at Imperial College, used to tell parents who complained disabled children had bottom-pain ‘‘children like them get these things’’ )Dr Martin Brueton - referred children to Simon Murch at Royal Free. Mine too. Thanks

I was never treated by these doctors, I knew Dr perri ( Raj) as he was known to us when I worked as a hotel receptionist in Guernsey in 1987, I never saw the bad side to him, so I was shocked to see a picture of him in a magazine, gos to show I didn’t know him @ all, was he in hiding in Guernsey? makes you wonder.
